Crafted with naturally gluten-free ingredients and non-GMO corn sourced from sustainably-minded, artisanal, Mexican farmers, these chips are as close as you can get to abuela’s homemade ones. Great as a base for vegan nachos, with dips such as guac and salsa, or crumbled into salads to add texture.
Blanco Nino started in 2015 by making authentic corn tortillas for leading Mexican restaurants and chefs across Europe. Its carefully crafted tortilla chips launched in shops in 2020. Phil, the founder, travelled through Mexico and visited milpas, molinos and tortillerias to learn the secrets behind authentic corn tortilla chips.
Blanco Nino Sea Salt Tortilla Chips
Blanco Nino’s Authentic Sea Salt Tortilla Chips are perfect, crunchy corn chips embedded with salt crystals from Celestún, a fishing village on the Yucatan peninsula. These sea salt crystals are harvested in partnership with a local social enterprise that sources all the salt from ancient Mayan salt flats. The heritage producers in this partnership promote traditional and sustainable salt harvesting practices.
Blanco Nino Ancient Grain Tortilla Chips
Blanco Nino’s Ancient Grain Authentic Tortilla Chips are made using the ancient grain amaranth and Texcocan blue corn. These chips are mildly sweet and earthy and are robust enough to not break when dipped in your favourite salsa. The ingredients in these morish chips are harvested in partnership with farmers in Milpa Alta, near Lake Texcoco.
Blanco Nino Chilli & Lime Tortilla Chips
Blanco Nino’s Chilli & Lime Authentic Tortilla Chips are zesty, smoky and act as the life of the party. Ancho chillis are combined with lime juice to help replicate a truly Mexican experience. These ancho chillis are harvested by a heritage farmer named Jorge in Puebla. When these chillies are fresh they are called Poblanos but when dried their flavour amplifies and they are then called Ancho chillies!

How does Blanco Nino make the Authentic Tortilla Chips so authentic?
Blanco Nino did a lot of research before putting the Authentic Tortilla Chips on the market. After visiting many Mexican chefs and food producers across the country the team settled on using the tried and tested ancient Aztec way of cooking corn: nixtamalization.
Nixtamalization is the three-day process of steeping freshly-picked non-GMO corn and grinding it into a dough called masa using hand-carved Mexican volcanic stones. When this dough is still piping hot, it is shaped and baked into tortilla chips. These chips then rest overnight before being lightly fried to create the final product.
