Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make tomato soup with Biona

Organic Whole Peeled Tomatoes?

Yes, Biona Organic Whole Peeled Tomatoes are great for making homemade cream of tomato soup – it’s tastier and healthier than most canned tomato soups too.

To make 4 servings of soup, you will need 1 tin Biona Organic Whole Peeled Tomatoes; 1 white onion; 2 tbsp Mergulo’s Original Cashew Nut-But*er; 1 Kallo Foods’ Organic Tomato & Herb Stock Cube; 2 tbsp tomato puree; salt and pepper; fresh basil to serve; a handheld blender.

Firstly, chop the onion. Add the stock cube to 500ml boiling water in a mixing bowl and stir so it is fully dissolved. Then, heat the but*er in a large pan. Once the but*er has melted, add the chopped onions and cook on low heat until they start to turn golden (about 4 minutes).

Next, add all the other ingredients into the pan and allow to simmer for 10 minutes (add salt and pepper to taste, you can also add chilli flakes if you want a little kick). Then take the pot off the heat and blend in the handheld blender until the soup is smooth. Return to the pot and simmer for a further 5 minutes.

Serve with a sprig of fresh basil, a drizzle of Organico’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and season with salt and pepper.
