Product Overview

Oh, the humble jackfruit. Who knew it would become such a staple in the modern-day vegan diet!? Packed with nutrients and antioxidants, this unique tropical fruit should be a staple in everyone’s pantry.

100% organic with absolutely no funny business, Biona’s Organic Jackfruit in Salted Water comes conveniently precut and prepared into pods. Just simply take each pod and peel off the skin to cook.

If you’re looking for a healthy, natural meat alternative, then look no further. Naturally sweet in flavour, when cooked it has a delectable shredded texture. It’s incredibly versatile and easy to cook.

The best thing about Jackfruit is that it’ll soak up any marinade you pair it with. Use it as a base in burgers, stews, pulled pork spin-offs or add it to a Mexican burrito. It’s filling, nutritious and has an extremely satisfying bite. What more could you want!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you prepare Jackfruit?

Luckily for you, Biona has done most of the hard work! All you need to do is drain and rinse the jackfruit, then place it on a chopping board. Slice off and bin the core of each jackfruit segment and you’re good to go! Depending on what you want to prepare, you can either chop them into small pieces or tear them apart using your hands.

For a ‘pulled pork’ texture, pull them apart individually before marinading. That way when you bake it, the jackfruit will fall apart just like pulled pork. You can also do this for stews or when making taco and burrito stuffing.
