Frequently Asked Questions

What Is A Chocolate Truffle?

A chocolate truffle is traditionally a chocolate filled with a ganache, coated in chocolate. It can also be coated in cocoa powder, coconut, or chopped and toasted nuts. Usually almonds or hazelnuts are used. They are often round or come in a curved shape. Their name comes from the edible fungi.

There are several varieties of chocolate truffles. The American version is a combination of dark or milk chocolate mixed in with butterfat. The European truffle is made with a syrup plus a mixture of cocoa powder and milk fats.

The Spanish create a medley of dark chocolate, condensed milk and a liqueur (usually rum). The French truffle is made with fresh cream and rolled in cocoa. But the Swiss prefer to combine melted chocolate with cream and butter.

Lovely gift

I recently gifted these champagne truffles to a friend and they loved them!! Something a bit different, not just like a boring box of chocolates!
