Yes, Clearspring Japanese Flavoured Toasted Nori Strips are really effective for making vegan “fish”. We love them with Dragonfly - Organic Super-Firm Tofu and Spice Pots - Tandoori Masala Curry Powder - Medium.
To start: drain the tofu, wrap it with some kitchen roll, and place it under something heavy (with a flat bottom) to press and condense the tofu. After 30 minutes remove the weight and dispose of the kitchen roll. Then cut the tofu into thick strips (about the size of shortbread fingers) and use the knife to deeply score each strip on one side.
Then marinate the tofu strips in soy sauce and sesame seed oil for 30 mins. While they’re marinating mix the Tandoori Masala (1 tablespoon) with cornflour (1 tablespoon) in a bowl and preheat the oven to 200˚C.
When the tofu strips have finished marinating, roll them into the spice and cornflour on all sides (except the side opposite the scored side). Using agave syrup as a sticking agent, place a Clearspring Japanese Flavoured Toasted Nori Strip onto the un-spiced side. Place in Nori-side down into a greaseproof paper-lined tray and bake until crisp on the outside (about 30 minutes). Enjoy.
