This product contains Lactic Acid, is it still lactose-free?

Although lactic acid can be produced from fermenting lactose (a milk sugar) most lactic acid products are dairy-free. Biona Organic Wholegrain Mustard uses lactic acid derived from fermented plants meaning it is vegan and totally dairy/lactose-free. While lactic acid may sound like lactose, it is actually the enzymes in a perforated lactic acid bacterium that break lactose down into galactose and glucose (hence the similarity in the words).
