Frequently Asked Questions

My Biona Organic Raw Virgin Coconut Oil keeps changing from a liquid to a solid. Is this normal?

Like all coconut oil, Biona Organic Raw Virgin Coconut Oil will be liquid when it’s warm and solid when it’s cool. If you prefer for it to be in a certain state to suit your needs, then here are a few tips:

  • If your coconut oil is liquid which will occur if you store it in a sunny place or next to the stove, and you prefer it to be solid, simply place it in the fridge to cool down.
  • Consider storing it in a cooler spot (such as in a dark cupboard, or pantry) which will prevent liquefaction in future.
  • If you prefer your oil to be liquid, bring a pan of water to a simmer, turn off the heat and place the whole jar in the water. Make sure the lid is tightly closed!
  • If your oil is loose enough to scoop out the amount you need, melt it in a clean pan on a low heat until liquid. Use as desired.
