Product Overview

Nori is probably the most popular of all sea vegetables. Clearspring Wholefoods sources its nori straight from Japan. Each pack contains 7 sheets of square nori.

Japan has been farming nori for over 300 years. They use nets that nestle just above the water’s surface, allowing the seaweed to get sunlight. The nets also keep the seaweed just below the surface to receive regular washing during high tide.

During the earlier parts of winter, seaweed continues to grow. So, it is only harvested in the latter part of the season. Once they are gathered, the seaweed gets washed, cut into thin sheets, and dried.

Clearspring Wholefoods Nori Sushi comes toasted for your convenience. It can be enjoyed as a snack or be used to make other dishes. Nori sheets are often used to make sushi or kimbap, a Korean rice wrap that’s similar to sushi. Toasted nori can also be great for garnishing a variety of savoury dishes.

Clearspring Wholefoods Toasted Nori Sushi comes in a resealable pack so that the seaweed keeps fresh until you need to use it again.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between toasted and untoasted nori?

Toasted nori is more brittle. You will notice that it tends to break more easily. If you want to make nori flakes, you need toasted nori. Untoasted nori is chewier and more flexible. Both are still good for making sushi. Most actually suggest using toasted nori for that crispy first bite before the melt-in-you-mouth sushi rice takes over.

Some of the Best Nori Around

Highly recommend these nori sheets! They taste really authentic! My kids love them - we often toast them to make homemade sushi rolls! I love that they come with a seal on the bag so that you can keep them fresh for longer!
