Does Notorious Nooch Nutritional Yeast contain MSG?

Notorious Nooch Nutritional Yeasts do not have any MSG (Monosodium glutamate) added to them. However, they do contain naturally occurring glutamate (as is the case with many foods and all yeasts) that is bound to the amino acids in the Nooch. This means that those with a glutamate intolerance should consume with caution.

There is a common misconception that nutritional yeast contains MSG due to the naturally occurring glutamate; however, MSG is the result of chemically changing glutamic acid, and the amino acids it binds with, to make a synthetic flavour enhancer. You can rest assured that Notorious Nooch products are free from MSG and are totally non-GMO, too!
