 Product Overview

Want a gluten-free flour with a bit more taste? Well, Amisa Organic Gluten-Free Chestnut Flour is just that! Made from 100% organic chestnuts, with no added nasties, this flour has a low Glycaemic Index and no saturated fat.

Amisa Organic Gluten-Free Chestnut Flour is nutrient-rich. Chestnuts are high in vitamin C and are a good source of potassium and magnesium. They also contain the antioxidants gallic acid and ellagic acid, the levels of which actually increase when cooked.

We particularly like using Amisa Organic Gluten-Free Chestnut Flour for baking vegan desserts due to its sweet and nutty flavour. Why not try it for a truly exceptional and gluten-free coffee and walnut cake? We know you’re going to love it!

Frequently Asked Questions

How well does chestnut flour work as a substitute for plain flour in baking?

While the naturally gluten-free nature of Amisa Organic Chestnut Flour is great for those with coeliac disease (and other gluten intolerances), the flour will not behave in the exact same way as plain flour.

Gluten has binding and rising properties that are important when baking; therefore, we recommend using corn flour (for binding) and baking powder (for rising) along with Amisa Organic Chestnut Flour when baking. For every 150g of plain flour, use 120g of Chestnut Flour, 30g of corn flour, and ¼ teaspoon of baking powder, for best results.
