Product Overview

Combining the earthy, sweet and nutty tones of black kale with Scottish seaweed, vegan cheese, and a dash of garlic comes Shore’s Black Kale & Seaweed Pesto. A delicious pesto to serve with pasta and roasted vegetables, that can also be used as a dip or spread.

Seaweed is a nutrient goldmine. It contains iron, potassium, magnesium, iodine, fibre, and zinc. It is also a good source of calcium and iodine – two nutrients that can be difficult to find in a plant-based diet.

Use Shore’s Black Kale & Seaweed Pesto in the same way as traditional pesto. Use it as a marinade, spread it on freshly baked bread, or use it as a scrumptious pasta sauce.

Store somewhere cool and dry. Once opened, keep in the fridge and consume within 3 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make vegan risotto with Shore Black Kale & Seaweed Pesto?

Yes, Shore’s Black Kale & Seaweed Pesto is delicious in a vegan risotto. We particularly recommend it in a risotto that includes wild mushrooms and toasted pine nuts, cooked in generous amounts of dry white wine.

If you can get hold of samphire in season, it will elevate the dish to a whole other level of delicious plant-based sea tastes! But if you can’t get hold of samphire, fear not; tender stem broccoli will also go down a treat.

We love to add a generous sprinkling of I Am Nut Ok’s Oh Grate! Grated Italian Cheese Alternative to each plated up portion, along with coarsely cracked black pepper and Maldon’s Sea Salt Flakes.
