Product Overview

These nutritious and versatile Organic Red Kidney Beans from Eat Wholesome are an essential component of any vegan kitchen. They are a low-fat source of plant protein and dietary fibre, as well as iron, phosphorus, and potassium.

Not only are these Organic Red Kidney Beans full of plant goodness, but they are also a fantastic addition to almost any dish. They are great in casseroles or curries, as well as a vital part of any vegan chilli. As the beans are already cooked you can put them straight into a salad - we love them with mixed leaves, sweetcorn, and finely chopped red onion.

To prepare, rinse the beans in a colander before eating raw or cooking. Store somewhere cool and dry. Once opened, transfer to an airtight container, keep in the fridge, and treat as fresh food.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Eat Wholesome Organic Red Kidney Beans to make gluten-free vegan brownies?

Yes, you can use Eat Wholesome’s Organic Red Kidney Beans to make gluten-free vegan brownies. We particularly love them in this plant protein-packed recipe.

You will need: 1 can of Eat Wholesome Organic Red Kidney Beans; 30g Vega’s Essentials Protein - Chocolate; 40g Biona’s Organic Coconut Oil Cuisine - Mild & Odourless; 70g dark brown sugar or Natvia’s Natural Sweetener; 30g Superfoodies’ Organic Cacao Powder; 50ml Vita Coco’s Pure Coconut Water; 1 tsp Clearspring’s Organic Japanese Brown Rice Miso; a food processor.

Preheat the oven to 180˚C and line a 20x20 baking tray with greaseproof paper. Drain and thoroughly rinse the Eat Wholesome Organic Red Kidney Beans in a colander or sieve. Then add all the ingredients into the food processor and blend until completely smooth (you can also add a ½ tsp of chilli powder if you want them to have a little bit of a kick).

Once the mixture is smooth, pour it into the baking tray, and use a spatula to make the top smooth and level. You can also sprinkle some Super Foodies’ Raw Organic Cacao Nibs on top of the batter if you’d like some extra texture.

Bake them for 30 minutes, then leave to cool completely before cutting. Once they’re cooled and cut (if any are left over) put them in an airtight container and store somewhere cool and dry or in the fridge. Enjoy!
