Product Overview

Clearspring’s Organic Japanese Kukicha Roasted Twig Tea is a unique blend. Unlike other tea, it doesn’t get its taste from tea leaves. Its one-of-a-kind flavour comes from the twigs, stems, and stalks of the tea plant.

The tea’s ingredients are completely organic. They come from a farm in Kyoto that’s managed by a third-generation family of farmers, the Nagata family. Nagata’s tea bushes have certain robustness to them that enables them to grow without the need for any chemicals. The same family also handles the blanching, drying and roasting needed to make different kinds of tea.

Clearspring Organic Japanese Kukicha has a mild and nutty taste and aroma. Being roasted, its caffeine content has been lessened, and this makes it great to enjoy at any time of the day. This tea can also be enjoyed by the whole family because of its soothing properties.

Brewing Kukicha doesn’t take long. Like most other green teas, brewing or steeping them for long periods of time could result in the tea developing a bitter taste. Don’t use extremely hot water on this tea, too. Putting this bag of tea on a pot of boiling water over the stove won’t do its flavours any good.

Ingredients

Organically grown roasted green tea twigs, stems and leaves
