Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Oatly Creamy Oat contain emulsifiers & stabilisers?

Oatly wanted its Creamy Oat to be as high performance as possible. If an oat cream behaves just like normal cream and people can’t tell the difference, even more people will be convinced to ditch the dairy.

The emulsifier and stabiliser are there to ensure that Creamy Oat behaves just as you want it to, even when heated.

However, the plant-based pioneers at Oatly are always tinkering with the recipe, aiming to get it to a place where the additives will no longer be needed. In the meantime, they’ve used the smallest amounts possible.
